"God Can Have Everything I Have!”

That was the response of one of our Preschoolers this past Sunday after watching the video of the plans for Phase II.

When he asked his parents when he could play in that new building, they told him that he would have to wait until we had enough money to build it.  After a few moments of serious consideration he said, “They can have everything I’ve got!”

Often it takes the simple trust and faith of a child to force us to see the most profound truths.  God’s call on our lives personally and for a church has always required a faith response of offering to God all that we are and all that we have.  This was true in Bible times as God called people like Abraham and Moses and it is true today as well.  To follow God in their day required a total commitment of all that they had.  They were to place themselves totally in God’s hands with no other resource to fall back on.  As they did, God was always faithful to meet every need that they had personally and to meet the needs of the ministry to which He had called them.

We can discount this kind of faith as being childish and impractical, but even in scripture we see evidence of this childish and impractical faith being honored and blessed by God.  When the mission of the Disciples to feed over 5000 people seemed impossible and far beyond their ability and resources, it was not the reasoned logic of mature men that made the difference.  It was a child with simple faith that said, “He can have everything I’ve got!”, that made the difference.  God does not look for our resources to accomplish His vision in our midst, He looks for our child like faith to give Him all that we have.

Following God today still requires this same kind of child like faith that is willing to give to God our all, fully trusting that He will provide.

Will you give Him your all to see His will done in our day?
