Our Lives Should Be About Reaching People
|
All around us people are searching for answers to their life's questions. Generations is about meeting these everyday people where they are and inviting them to experience the answers Christ provides. We can never underestimate the impact our obedience to God's simply calling in our life can be. Our lives should be about living a mission, and that mission should be about reaching people. Look around you. Stop and take note of the people you come in to contact with. These everyday people have questions that you once had. Be on mission and invite them. Invite them to Colonial Heights. Invite them to experience Christ. Make a difference, for generations to come.
Generations is a thirty-six month capital stewardship emphasis which will allow Colonial Heights to fulfill the mission of our church. Our mission is to invite everyday people to experience Christ in every way. We are facing some great challenges right now with the need for more space. We need to start Phase II as quickly as possible. During the next several weeks I want to ask you to participate in Generations in three primary ways.
PRAY - Paul said we should "pray without ceasing." I want you to pray for our church during this strategic and exciting time that God will move through our church. Pray for God's will. Our church muchaccurately navigate the uncharted waters ahead of us. We must know God's will. Pray that God will reveal His will to you and your family as it relates to your participation in Generations.
COMMIT - I am asking you to follow God's will once you know it regardless of hard it is or how you feel about it. Remember, God's blessing does not come without obedience. Satan will do his best to discourage you and distract you away from the commitment God has led you to make. God will enable you to commit and follow His will.
GIVE - God is a giving God. He desires for us to give so others may know Him. I am asking you to give to God and His work. Give your abilities to Him. He can use you to help and bless others. Also, give your resources that God's vision may be fulfilled through Colonial Heights. God simply wants us to be a conduit of the blessings we have received from Him to others.
I hope you will memorize these three words: PRAY, COMMIT AND GIVE. Let's seize the moment for this and future generations.
